Myrtle's Plantation was built in 1794 in St. Francisville, Lousiana by General
David Bradford. At the time of it's construction, this now famous plantation
was known as "Laurels Grove". Myrtle's Plantation has been the home to
various families since it was built, but the most legendary would be that of the
Woodruff's.
The building found at the corner of West Forth Street and Market Street in Maysville, Kentucky was donated by
Mrs. Mary Wilson in 1908. It had previously been the Hayswood Seminary, a private school for girls, and was
built sometime in the 1800s. As the seminary closed the building was called the Wilson Hospital, but on her
death, (or by another account
changed in 1908 after she moved) was re-named after the old Seminary, and became the Hayswood Hospital.
Mansfield Reformatory, otherwise known as the Ohio State Reformatory is located in
Mansfield, Ohio and is said to be one of the most haunted spots in the U.S. It was
originally used as a reformatory for boys, until 1976 when it was converted into an
Ohio state penitentiary. It was closed in 1990 and ever since has had a reputation for
housing the spirits of what some believe are the former inmates and employees of
Mansfield.
Alcatraz is an island located in the San Fransico Bay. The U.S. Army used the
island now known as "The Rock" as a military prison until around 1933, when the

priviledges and were forced to live a very structured life. Only the basics were
provided, while anything extra had to earned.
Eastern State Penitentiary, located in Philadelphia, PA was opened in 1829 and is

the solitary confinement system.
It only took around 72 hours in the year 1863 for over 50,000 young American men
to become casualties of what is now known as one of the bloodiest battlefields in
history. The Gettysburg battlefield was filled with sorrow and pain that many of us
could never understand. This is why many say that Gettysburg is also the most
Haunted battlefield in America.
Waverly Hills Sanatorium has seen it's share of tragedy and death. It is reported as one of the most haunted
places on earth and has been the subject of many books, television shows and paranormal investigations.
In the early 20th century, Jefferson County in Kentucky had a major outbreak of tuberculosis. The swampland of
Louisville was a perfect environment for the tuberculosis bacteria to thrive, and there was a multitude of cases.
Waverly Hills was used to house a large number of tuberculosis patients during this time. As the people stricken
with the disease grew, more space was needed and a new hospital was built around 1924.
Many people left this earth from Waverly Hills Sanatorium. Death tolls have been rumored to be as high as
60,000 but in reality the number was probably much lower.

The Pirates House in Savannah, which is now a famous restaraunt, has a rich
history that dates back to the foundation of Georgia itself. It is said to be one of
the oldest buildings in the state and is connected to The Herb House, which is the
actual oldest building in the state of GA. The Pirates house was built on a bluff
overlooking the Savannah River and rests on part of the original land set aside
during the colonizing of Georgia that was called "Trustee's Garden" in honor of
the colony's backers in London. The gardens were to be used to experiment with
different crops for the new found land. The original Mulberry trees that were to
be used for the silk industry were frozen, but cotton and the famous Georgia
peach prevailed.
Just outside Bennet. NC, there is a place where the devil himself comes to do his
thinking. At least that what some local North Carolina residents say about the famous
and mysterious patch of land known as The Devil's Tramping ground. It is said that
Lucifer paces in circles, thinking of new and evil ways to create more suffering for
humanity. This may sound far fetched, but the circle itself is very real, and so far,
completely unexplained. The more you learn about the famous Devil's tramping ground,
the easier it is to understand why locals believe this.
